Soft and sparkling

These are a couple sparkling sweaters I’ve acquired recently (both from Red Light). They are both so beautiful and so so spangly. Usually when I find beaded sweaters, they are sort of big and baggy, but these fit me perfectly.
I thought I’d share the sparkly goodness. I just need a simple slip [...]

Lace for my sunglasses

I’m in love with this gorgeous glasses case that reader Kim made for me and sent all the way from Australia. Can you believe it? Sometimes it is astounding to me how nice people are.

It’s just beautifully constructed, and the white lace has me longing for summer already.

Spring is coming

The weather has been absolutely gorgeous in Portland for the last week. I know it’s a false start and the rain will return, but it’s still a welcome relief. There are flowers absolutely everywhere all of a sudden.

When the weather is nice, we take a lot more walks. Long, rambling walks around [...]

What inspires me

This week, I’m participating in Victoria’s Blog it Forward event. It’s sort of like a chain made up of blogs, all posting on the same theme: What Inspires Us The Most. Sounds fun, huh? And I’ve already uncovered some lovely blogs I’d never seen, so definitely check out the other participating [...]

Dear Golden Vintage

Dear Golden Vintage has become one of my favorite online vintage shops. I love the subdued palette of the things she chooses, it’s just perfect and utterly wearable. Look at these beauties, I could seriously wear every single thing she sells.

And these two are on their way to me! I can’t [...]

Rosey tights

I want some floral tights like these worn by lefthandendeavor.
I often acquire loud tights but then don’t wear them much. Maybe they remind me a little too much of previous fashion blunders, like the bright red, yellow, and orange photorealistic fruit printed tights I had when I was 14. They were totally covered [...]

1930s fashion plates

I am obsessing over the details in these 1930s fashion plates.

Jazz Baby

These tap pants are just incredible. I have nowhere near the 20″ to 25″ waist called for to wear these beauties (and they’re marked a size MEDIUM!), but maybe you do?
They are only $26 from redheadgingerbread. If I were a petite girl, they would be mine.

Inspiration: Victorian silk stockings

I just randomly came across this amazing specimen of embroidered victorian silk stockings on Etsy. Aren’t they amazing?
I’m inspired to do my own whitework embroidery on stockings now. I just need to find stockings sturdy enough to last longer than a few wears first!

My own Peggy Hunt

Do you remember when I posted these gorgeous creations by midcentury designer Peggy Hunt?
Well look what I found in a local shop! I was browsing through the racks and racks of old clothes, when I saw this gorgeous yellow rayon dress with the illusion neckline. The cut seemed so much like a Peggy [...]
