About Me

Hi, I’m Sarai. I’m a professional sewing writer and the creator of Colette Patterns, an independent line of lovely sewing patterns for men and women. Most of my writing about sewing, including tons of tutorials, tips, and ideas happens over at the Colette Patterns blog.

Sweet Sassafras is primarily where I write about my home life: DIY projects around the house, food, photography, and travel.

Along with Sweet Sassafras and the Colette Patterns blog, I’ve written for Design Sponge, Modern Seamster magazine, The Storque (Etsy’s blog), and DIY City Mag. My patterns have appeared in Bust magazine, Sew Hip, and others. I love writing and collaborating, and especially love working with and supporting other creative women.
