Plaid dress

Isn’t plaid amazing? I just love it. It just has so many layers of connotation – royalty, heritage, the countryside, schoolgirls, vivienne westwood, 1970s punk rock. And… lumberjacks.
How can one textile pattern be so simultaneously prissy and tough?
I found this dress on a $10 rack at the flea market. Perfect size, deadstock, still has the original tags. And I love the welt pockets.

If you’re a plaid fan, you must check out Tartan: Romancing the Plaid, which I know I’ve mentioned before. I’ve even added it to my Recommended Reading list, with a number of other autumnal favorites.

Amazing find!! I rather love plaid too, though I don’t have nearly enough in my wardrobe right now… Time to hit the thrift shops! ;)
Oh cute! What an amazing buy. I think I need to search out more vintage plaid for my wardrobe.
What an amazing bargain! I’m jealous, it’s beautiful.
Divine color! What a score! Please post a picture of you wearing it one day. Just lovely.
Plaid does have mad mythic resonance.
Thanks for the tip on the book. I just nabbed it at the library.
Love it! It will look good on you. Wish they had it in royal stewart.
It does sound like you found a good buy. Who wouldn’t appreciate a good vintage dress?
I would love to see you in it. How about a picture? Planning on wearing dresses and skirts, just not right away.
I still love it! Looking for mine. Had a skirt set in seventh grade. It was red plaid, and I loved it. I also wore the top with other skirts and the skirt with other tops. I also had these red shoes that I wore a lot, along with a matching clutch purse. I also had the same shoes and purse in black. I got a lot of clothing as hand-me-downs, that were so beautiful. I also recieved purses and bags as hand-me-downs. Wish I could get them again..
