Tisanes and Sympathy

tea

Although it’s still pretty warm around here, we’re getting into the fall spirit with warm drinks.

Caffeine addict I may be, but I also like to stay hydrated while enjoying a delicious beverage, so I’ve been making some wonderful herbal tisanes. I love my glass teapot and cups, a gift from a friend. It’s perfect for infusing fresh herbs from the little pots on our porch.

I also have many shelves that look like this, with bottles and jars of dried herbs. In our last place, Kenn called it my witch’s cabinet. I do feel witchy lately.

This one was fresh persian mint and dried rosebuds.

Now I’m drinking lemon verbena, peppermint, persian mint, and sweet basil.

Wow. Found your blog thru another one of my favs (Inspirations & Creations), and ADORE it. What a lovely site – thank you for the gorgeous pics, prose and ponderings – such fun!

fab! do you follow recipes or make your own mixes? Just bought four different blends (dried) to try to use instead of chocolate… Sounds bizarre, but hopefully the fruit ones will satisfy my cravings!
More on Paris soon?

Your tisanes look so lovely and refreshing. I’ve been hoping someone would gift me a glass teapot but I think I just need to get one out for myself.

Thanks for the nice compliments!

Jenny, I’ve just been making my own. I discovered an herb shop nearby that sells a huge array of bulk herbs, it’s wonderful.
