Buttercup Beret – Free Knitting Pattern

I just fell in love with this yarn when I found it at Noe Knit. Crystal Palace Creme is a silk-wool blend, and has just the perfect amount of fuzzy-halo-ness for a beret. But what really got me is the color. Not quite mustard, but not quite gold, it’s so pretty and surprisingly versatile.
I had trouble finding an appropriate beret pattern to really show off the yarn, so I created this lovely cabled beret pattern. The shape is softly rounded, so it looks great pulled down low to keep your ears warm, and it’s a quick and satisfying knit.

Hi Katie here from the Twin Cities-Minnesota. I stumbled upon your blog in two unrelated web adventures last week. I enjoy your aesthetic, photos, and writing very much. This beret pattern is a beauty and that yarn is gorgeous.
Cheers!
Thanks Katie- I agree, I love this yarn!
This is a beautiful pattern. The alternating cables really give it a nifty texture. I just started knitting, but it’s going in my ‘future projects’ file! Thanks for posting it.
A great pattern! I’ve been thinking about a new beret — now I have the impetus to start. I’ll follow up at Wardrobe Refashion. Thanks, Sarai!
Found this through craftster, had to tell you how beautiful this beret is! The hat of my dreams! Thank you kindly.
Beautiful pattern! I may even have to copy your yarn choice, such a great colour I wouldn’t have thought to choose. Thankyou for your lovely inspiring blog :)
This is so beautiful. It’s just want my sister wants for her birthday! Thank you for sharing your pattern.
i just made this, i found your pattern on ravelry! it looks awesome, i made it from an off-white soy blend, and the beautiful cables really pop out. thanks!
Lovely pattern. Thanks so much for sharing your fabulous design with the rest of us knitters who’ve longed for a tasteful beret – which is hard to come by!!! You have proven that it’s possible to create a handkint beret without acrylic yarn or a massive, obnoxious pom-pom. I can’t wait to knit this one up.
Thanks for the information. This website is wonderful. Best regards from Turkey’s best knitting website: http://www.orgu-evi.com

I’m learning to spin and have enough to make a hat. I’m so happy to have discovered your pattern for the Buttercup Beret but am sad because I’m having trouble downloading it. Can you help please or send it by email.
Thank you SO much
Delia

Hi, I can’t download this, please can you send it to me?
I’ve been trying to print this PDF for my wife, but the PDF is corrupt and unprintable. I’ve tried this on several different computers, and it still doesn’t work. Could you please re-generate the PDF, or perhaps post or send me a copy that will print?
Thanks!

i am looking for a pattern for childs berret using dk yarn. i saw one in a debbie bliss book but i didn’t have use for the entire book
i love the pattern. it looks like a sun wheel. i can see making it in thicker yarn, maybe some homespun, maybe some mauve or even magenta. i am naturally uberblonde and this color would not look to good along side my hair, but something brighter like the above mentioned .
I am unable to download the pattern. Please help – I really want to make this before the REALLY cold weather starts again. Thanks much
