Biba: The Biba Experience
I am loving this book on the famed London store, Biba. I just adore the slick, glam, 1970s sequins-and-fishnet meets art deco clothes. The styling of the store itself, from the displays to the advertising to the packaging were all so perfect. Biba was a true concept store.
I really really want those wingtip heels.
The book itself is lovely, with pages accented in deep purple and metallic gold, gorgeous full page photographs of clothing and shoes, plenty of detail shots, gorgeous illustrations from advertising and promotions, and chapters headlined with the lyrics of Roxy Music, David Bowie, and The Kinks.
Makes me want to put on blood red lipstick and wear something sequined.

1968 I was 15 and I had the corderouy coat as shown in pic, in baby blue. I had many clothes from Biba, my favourite outfit was from Barbara Hulaniki’s boutique before the Kensington High st shops opened which was a blue and white sailors mini dress with matching shorts that just peeked out under the dress.
