No, I’m not making my guy’s suit. I’m not quite insane enough to take that on. But we are having a custom suit made by Al of Al’s Attire in North Beach. I’ll post later about the awesomeness that is Al’s, but for now, here’s the suit.

These photos are from the first fitting this past weekend. He’s a slender guy to say the least, so buying a suit off the rack has always been a bit of a challenge. The custom option lets him get a suit with a perfect fit, the most flattering cut, and all the cool details he wants. And really, it’s not all that much more than a less-than-perfect off the rack suit when you consider how long he’ll have it.

I’m really excited to see the almost-finished suit at the next fitting. Al’s also making a matching pocket square out of a scrap of my dress fabric.
