Handmade Wedding: Finishing the Invitations

So now that my invitations are designed and printed, it was time to assemble them and make reply cards.

1) Cutting: I bought a paper cutter to get absolutely straight edges. These things are cheap and a good investment. It saved me a lot of time cutting the edges off of each invitation, and I also used it to cut the red bands that went around each invite.

2) Folding: Using a ruler, each invitation was folded into three parts, with ends overlapping.

3) Making the bands: I used the paper cutter to cut even strips of the red cover paper. I stamped the date onto each with metallic gold ink, wrapped this band around the invitation, and secured it in back with a matching circular sticker.

4) The reply cards: These were easy-peasy. I printed the text onto the blue text paper, cut it into squares with the paper cutter along with some red cover paper (see how handy it is?) and punched the corners with a decorative corner punch. Then I used spray mount to affix the blue over the red.

I love my invitations. I hope they give people the sense of what our wedding will be: fun, casual, but thoughtful and made with love.

I absolutley love these invitations. So often you see the same pale and bland palate for wedding invitations. These foreshadow a gorgeous wedding.
